Quilt the Vote!
October 9th, 2008 in other crafts, quiltingEven though women were only granted the right to vote eighty-eight years ago, women have been crafting political themes and supporting policies with handmade expressions for centuries. To spotlight the Obama/Biden message of change, Denyse Schmidt and friends have made a bold and glorious quilt to be raffled off to raise funds for the Democratic ticket.
No matter what your political affiliation, the current economic crisis has underscored the importance of this year's election and lent a special poignancy to crafters using their creativity to inspire and support change. CraftStylish wants to know: what are you making to craft the vote?

One of my favorite sites is the Obama Craft Project blog and flickr pool - http://www.flickr.com/groups/obamacraftproject/
I Gocco-printed some map postcards to get out the vote last month, which was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures if anyone is interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/susanstars/sets/72157607616027010/
