Knit Socks and Hat
October 25th, 2008 in knitting, galleryI was about 8 years old when I knit my first piece of essential winter gear - a wool scarf a few inches wide and as long as my patience would allow. Over the years I progressed to circular needles and knit beanie caps (photo above), and finally in my teenage years mastered the four-needle knit sock.
My mom wrote the patterns and sold them to designer Ann Norling in the 1980s. But their utilitarian design keeps them current. The yarn is Brown Sheep, which is washable and anti-itchy.
