I basically followed the instructions as given, although I decided it was a bit too small and so added three more hexagons to either side. Oh, and if I were to do the project again, I would have cut the interfacing a bit smaller than the top piece. I ended up having to trim the interfacing down a bit to keep if from being visible from the top.
