Harlequin Hiking Dress
comments (1) January 5th, 2009 in galleryLong sleeves are a must in this new winter dress. I plan to make more with this kind of Corset bodice as I LOVE the way it fits and shapes the torso.
This Black and Red t-shirt dress has a rather low neckline, but as I critiqued my work and said too low! I had to think of a dear girlfriend's comment that a low front dip is her favorite part of a dress. So if low is how you go give it a second look.
Constructed with a serger and edges are cut and left raw. The black and white trim gives an active buzz to the neckline and calls attention to the plunge. The sleeves are bell shaped and full at the ends in contrast to the trim waist. The hem is cut wide for hiking and taking big steps, with a flounce shaped waist comes to a V in the back for a bit of extra sassy fun.
Made from 100% cotton hanes heavy weight t-shirts pre washed, the trim is a cotton blend,
Jersey T-shirt knit has some stretch so it fits a busty small/medium:
34-34"bust, 26-28" waist, 37-38" hips
Click back again and check in with my studio to sample more treats and see what's new as new dresses are released each week. I am inspired by Giselle in the Enchanted movie who makes a new dress each day, but working with out the stitching help of talented animal friends I seem to aim for just two a week, one for me and one for you.
