This free tee pattern, from Burda Style, will keep the guys in your life looking cool this summer.

If your guy's got simple tastes (jeans and tees for, well, everything) it can be hard to wrangle him into anything you'd consider cool. This free pattern for a guy's tee from Burda Style should be something that looks good but he won't complain about.

The pattern requires 1.5 yards of jersey knit fabric (I'd go with a poly/cotton blend to avoid shrinkage and I love the stripes the Burda folks chose) and .5 yard or rib knit. The bird detailing could be crafted out of a piece of DIY felt to create an interesting textural element—just be careful that's it's fully shrunken or it'll have to be washed with care. This is not a skill many of the guys I know possess.
