One-Skein Crochet Projects
February 10th, 2009 in crochetIf you're working your way through your stash and hit up all the pretty, pretty, couldn't-leave-them-at-the-store single balls of yarn, you may be wondering what the heck you can make with them. I always go for hats and scarves, but recently I stumbled on this great roundup of free patterns, all designed with one-skein usage in mind. Keep in mind that there's no standard as far as yardage goes, so if you substitute yarns you might need a bit more than one skein—or you can work up a color combination using bits from several skeins. Also, please note that this is not my list of links, and a few of them are broken. I still think it's a great roundup, though, and you can always contact the person responsible for each pattern to see if they'll repost it. And don't forget Ravelry—just do a pattern search for "one skein crochet" and you'll turn up lots of options!
