In my busy little blogger, pattern-drafting, illustration-drawing, fashion-designing world, I love anything that brings the inspiration to me. One of my favorite things is checking out "what's hot in the hive" every week. They send me this great little wrap-up of the week's hottest picks of fashion and accessories. This week I was blown away by a dress designed by Blanka Matragi. At first look it reminded me of a delicate flower, but when I zoomed in to check it out, I realized that the bodice is embellished with precious materials into the likeness of a butterfly and the skirt is an extension of the delicate design...I love it! This Czech designer is incredible...her haute couture gowns are frothy confections that combine an amazing mix of stones, paint, and ethereal fabrics. I'm tempted to pick up her autobiography so I can read all the juicy details about her life and her clientele from the royal palaces in the countries of the Persian Gulf!
