Get Tied Up in Refashioning!
April 21st, 2009 in sewing, other crafts, fashion, restyleIf you have a penchant for old neckties (ahem, Sister Diane?) and love fashion, check out these amazing pieces by Nicole Deponte, the designer behind Lillian Asterfield. Her hand-sewn creations go above and beyond the typical "shorten the tie, add a buttion, voila—cuff!" recycling projects, as Nicole adds depth and form to each of her sculptural creations. It's no surprise that she has her BFA in sculpture—each of these ruffled numbers is like a mini art piece. She'll also do custom pieces from your own stash of neckties—how's that for an heirloom?
