Make Your Own Reusable Makeup Remover Pads
April 29th, 2009 in sewingConfession, I don't wear makeup except for maybe twice a year, but I'm sure some of you do! And if so, perhaps you use disposable cotton pads to remove your makeup. If you don't want to switch to washcloths but still want to keep it green, why not make your own washable, reusable makeup remover pads? Here's a quick and brilliant idea to replace yet another disposable product that many of us use every day. The sisters at Sproutz have posted simple instructions on making your own pads from a charm square (one makes four pads!) and a bit of minky. The bonus: They're even softer than cotton and might leave you feeling a wee bit pampered. If you make yourself enough to use from week to week (or however long your laundry cycle is), you can just toss them in with your clothes. They'd also make a sweet addition to a spa/shower gift set.
P.S. They've got tons of other cute ways to use charm squares and scraps on their site!

Be careful what new fabrics you use, as the fabric finishes on new fabrics can take several washing to remove those chemicals.....
