This rodeo postcard comes to life due to the intricate quilting, which creates depth and motion.

The quilted post cards featured on Pink Chalk Studio recall a road trip last Forth of July. Kathy entered the postcards into the Quilting Arts, "Postcards From..." Challenge. They include maps copied onto silk organza, the faces of Mount Rushmore printed on cotton, a roaring river, a rodeo, and bison sleeping in Yellowstone National Park. I think quilting postcards is a wonderful way to remember a trip or event in your life. The postcards become a snapshot, which can capture more than a simple photograph. You could include pieces of fabric that have meaning for you, as well as, copy other items onto fabric, like Kathy made use of maps and photos.
