Wire-wrapped silver on copper with Goldstone dangle!

A happy experiment in wire-wrapping! I had been thinking of trying some wire-weaving – and combining different metals, and the result was even better than I had imagined!

A length of copper wire bent in a “U” shape was the basis of the earrings – Once bent, I made loops to finish off the ends. I then took my 24 gauge silver wire, wrapped it on one side to anchor it, then started weaving over and under between the copper wires. The effect was quite nice, and the further I went, the closer together the copper wires came – til they were together, and then I simply wrapped the silver wire around the two copper wires to the loops.

They still needed something – a bit of ‘punch’ to finish them off. I remembered that I had some Goldstone beads – they would give some sparkle to the copper wire. I strung a bead on a copper headpin, then attached it to the top of the woven piece – and both then to the earring finding.
