Quilled Note Cards
July 7th, 2008 in paper crafts, giftsIt was love at first sight when I saw the precious quilled note cards at Bubba D & Buggy G's store on Etsy. I had to know more about the artist Amy. Here's more about how Amy got started and where she finds inspiration.
Q. How did you learn how to quill?
A. I haven't been quilling long. When I was little (I was always a very crafty little kid) I saw something that was quilled and always wanted to learn how, but could never find any paper or how-to books. Several months ago, I was browsing a new craft store in my area looking for a craft that would be easy to do and not too messy. I saw a book on quilling and remembered being interested in it when I was younger. I had to buy it and couldn't hardly wait to get home and get started.
Q. Where do you find your inspiration?
A. Some of my animals are inspired by that book, but have been altered. You'll notice that many of my animals don't have faces. I personally think that they look more artsy that way. I usually sit down in the evening, once the kids are in bed, and come up with my designs. I have been getting a lot of inspiration from my kids. My baby's room is inpsired by the children's rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle, so that is where the Hey Diddle Diddle cow card came from. I just listed cupcake cards, which were inspired by my 3 year olds (and everyone's) love for cupcakes. I am currently working on a design for a card or maybe a framed picture that is of the Owl and the Pussycat (my favorite story to read to my kids).
Check out Bubba D & Buggy G on Etsy. These cute and afforable cards are a must have!

1. Any suggestions for a beginner?
2. Do you share your design instructions, and if so how may I obtain them?
Also, I just found, and signed up for CRAFTSTYLISH. I love it! This is my first post! Posted: 9:42 am on July 22nd
