Check out these wonderful crocheted orbs by blogger Resurrection Fern. She just posted a free tutorial about how to make them by crocheting around a balloon, starching it, and popping the balloon. Wouldn't it be fun to make a bunch of small orbs in bright colors to place on a strand of outdoor lights for a summer party? The best part would be the reflected light patterns dancing along your patio.

Be sure to browse the rest of her blog-- she's also got a cute tutorial on how to make fabric snails, and I'm sure there will be more to come.
