"Who Taught Me to Sew"
July 3rd, 2009 in sewingMy Mother gets that award! She has always sewn, if not for us personally, in sewing plant after being in the Textiles mill weaving for 30 years. She taught me on my grandmother's treadle machine and I loved it -- After taking home economics in Jr. High and High School, I would help her make our outfits for the Family Quartet we had and travelled around South Carolina.
Eventually, I would sew formal wear and then designed and sewed Bridal apparel from the Flower Girl, Attendants to the Bride and just loved it! When moving to PA in 1992, opened up a Sewing Studio and had the made Homecoming Dresses for the High School attendants and it flourished from there. Now, I am concentrating on Baby and Children's Wear, priority Christening Gowns, special occasion apparel. What can I say, I JUST LOVE IT!!
