National Watermelon Day is the perfect day to celebrate summer by carving up a watermelon creation. The National Watermelon Promotion Board shares recipes, fun facts, and carving techniques to help you make the most of your watermelon. They have a great section for kids too including recipes for popsicles, snow cones, and more. Kids might need some help with the actual carving, but choosing a design and building the final creation should be fun for the whole family (via VegetableGardener.com).

wishcrafter writes: I did this for a baby shower and did a buggy also found a pointy melon and cut out the eyes and used lg grapes and a lg black olive for the nose made the ears out of the circle cut out of the back and pared them down and out them into slots cut in the melon this is alot of fun you did a beautiful job:)
