What do you get when you get a group of 8 - 11 year old girls who love Project Runway and a room full of recycled materials? Generation Green Couture!

The girls created amazing fashions and accessories from fused plastic bags, candy wrappers, magazines and (lucky for us!) trims from a store that was going out of business. We did this as a camp project, but it would easily be adapted to a rainy day  or sleepover activity. The teacher used up a lot of glue gun sticks and the girls used lots of tape -- no sewing was used. Accessories were made from boxes and jeans turned into handbags and old shoes were given a new look.  The results were so amazing that we were asked to exhibit the designs in the windows of a local designer boutique.
