Skirt Suit with Peplum Jacket

For this Skirt Suit, I chose 3 elements of inspiration. Recently i was checking out the Metrostyle online catalog. What I found was three skirt suits each had some attribute that would make a totally different suit if certain pieces were combined.
In order to achieve this whole look, I used combination of patterns. For the jacket I used Vogue Pattern V8362. It's actually a blouse pattern, but I decided to convert it into jacket instead. For the fabric i chose a suiting fabric with a small houndstooth print. I also used some broadcloth for the band around the waist of the jacket. On the back of band of jacket i sewn some black sequins to create the look of a buckle, also i sewn a few sequins on the collar and on the inner part of each sleeve. Sleeves of the jacket are 3/4 length.
For the skirt portion of suit, I chose Simplicity Pattern 4881. Also the skirt is the same fabric as I used for the jacket. The skirt has an elastic waistband. Both the jacket and skirt are unlined. Also I sewn some black sequins on the right side at the beginning of each panel of the skirt. The embellishments on the skirt suit are few and spacious, so it still makes it work appropriate or for a social function. Since the color is neutral it can be worn with a bright colored or earth tone Pashmina.
