If you’re looking to take in the outdoors, take a look at these decorative lantern ideas to add a little pizzazz to your evening.

1. Soda-Can Lantern
This quick tutorial from Instructables.com has great photos to go along with every step and some neat ideas for variations on the standard can lantern design. To make the can easier to cut, it is also a good idea to fill an empty can with water and freeze it ahead of time to weaken the metal.

2. Gypsy Lanterns
For all of you fabric-gurus, this easy design from blogger One Hour Craft shows you how to use simple stitches and pretty fabric to create a bohemian lantern design.

3. Paper Table Lantern
A variation on the hanging Chinese lantern, Design Sponge offers this great how-to for making paper table lanterns with around-the-house supplies. These are so stylish and would look great with patterned paper or bright colors.

Hope the inspiration helps, now go enjoy a well-lit night!
