Using blanket scraps as batting makes this project as green as can be.

People are always coming up with one more way to restyle that old pair of jeans and Marie LeBaron’s “Make and Takes” blog is no exception. Here, guest blogger Kelsey of Vanilla Joy offers a great tutorial for turning an old pair of pants into a potholder and oven mitt. I love that Kelsey recommends making use of blanket scraps, sweatpants, and other fleece scraps as the batting on this super-cute design. There is also so much potential for embellishment with fun fabric or embroidery!
