wine cork trivet

i finally found a use for all those unused wine corks. i got these cinch up thingys from the hardware store,(i don't know what they are called), and glued the corks together using the hoop as a guide. i then cinched it up, and voila', a wine cork trivet for hot food. if the corks are too high, you can always cut them down.

Shadowcatcher writes: Hon, The cinch things are called Hose clamps. I like that idea for trivits! You'd be surprized at what you can do with wine corks. A craft show showed how to creat a table top with them once.
