My name’s Mary Ray and I’m thrilled to be doing this blog for CraftStylish because I love everything about quilting and, believe me, there’s a lot to love. Quilting is one of those wonderful crafts that appeals to both the right side and the left side of the brain. It encompasses precision and creativity, tradition and innovation. But please don’t let any of these words scare you. Quilting is fun, relaxing, fulfilling, and – I must warn you – addictive. It’s as easy or complex as you want to make it. And best of all, whatever your skill level, you can make quilts and other quilted projects that are fabulous.

My posts will focus on projects designed to brighten your world, and teach you techniques that speak to today’s quilter, using simple patterns and beautiful fabrics. But once in a while we’ll take a peek at some traditional quilts that are so much a part of our history and see how they influence today’s quilt styles. On the other side of the coin, we’ll look at some innovative art quilts that will knock your socks off. And we’ll visit some of the related crafts that quilting has spawned – like fabric dying and painting and other embellishment techniques.

The quilting world is huge and I hope to introduce you to it and help you navigate your way through all it has to offer. I hope to teach you, inspire you, and show you where to find what you need – whether you just want to make a project or two or jump in head first and become a card carrying quilter.

fashionmama writes: Quilting is addictive. I only just started in April and have already made 4 completed and 3 not yet finished. Each time I want to do something bigger and better. Each time I get a little more bold in my color choices. It's easy and lots of fun. I'm looking forward to learning more and reading your blog entries!!!

I started off with a tote 16 yrs ago. Now I have ALOT !
It's like an addiction. You just have to have that special yardage of fabric, because you know that If you don't get
It that day...It won't be there when you do go back.
Just buy It and carefully It take home and store until you find that certain quilt pattern...lol...
