Craftster user DamnYourEyes recently posted this awesome bat curtain made from filet crochet stitches. I love the idea of using filet crochet to make less traditional motifs,  and hanging one of these in my house would definitely get me in the mood for Halloween. I know it's early yet, but you'll have to get cracking now to finish one of these by October. She used the filet crochet instructions and chart on page 72 of Debbie Stoller's "Stitch 'n Bitch Crochet, The Happy Hooker" to make the curtain--just up your yarn weight and repeat the motif for the length of your curtain.
