Placemats are a great way to get inspiration for quick-to-make purses.  Here are a couple examples.  Get creative with machine embroidery, ribbons, hot fix stones and crystals, etc.  There are lots of great handles available in local stores too.  You can also salvage handles from old purses.  TIP:  Choose placemats with nicely lined backs.  That way you don't have to create a lining for your purse.
