I can’t remember a time when I didn’t sew. Early in my career I was a teacher of deaf children and a mother to young children. I hung a sign offering “Dressmaking and Alterations” in front of my home and my apparel business began. I soon opened a shop in Bainbridge Island, Wash., and expanded into made-to-measure men’s suits. Today, I live in Michigan and run my business, JSM Patterns, creating custom pants and patterns as well as training pants designers. I enjoy golf and being a grandparent. One-hour Wide Belt

For tying together any look, I love to quickly stitch up a wide, obi-wrap belt. It's super quick to sew.
