My name is Sheree....I love to Live, Love, Laugh, CREATE!
I own an online fabric shop (www.shereesalchemy.com) and an online shop where I sell my handmade goods (www.shereesatelier.com). I have a PhD in Chemistry, and worked as an industrial chemist until my daughter came along. After a year of juggling a demanding job, caring for my girl and keeping up with my husband, a large house in upstate New York, and everything else, I decided to hang up my lab coat and tend to my daughter and home life full time. Well, I became antsy and needed "other" work besides domestic/motherly things, so I started my business selling one-of-a-kind handmade items. I have sewn since I was 12, and even in graduate school, rented an apartment that had a spare bedroom, just for my fabric and sewing machines! I am blessed to be able to have this second career as a designer and maker. I tell people, I am still a chemist...but intead of mixing up chemicals and other hazardous materials, I mix up and experiment with fabric, buttons and notions. It is just as fulfilling and a lot healthier, I have to say!
You can read more about me and my life...how I live, love, laugh, CREATE!...on my blog......www.shereesalchemy.typepad.com
Hugs!

Thanks for sharing this shop! I am new to Texas and will be exploring Austin this summer. I live in Katy and we have one nice yarn shop here, but no other great crafty shops. I would love to open a retail space soon...we'll see! But in the meantime, I hope to find some great places when we visit Austin in a couple weeks!
